Production Notes - Scene 12 - Liberation of Dieppe
In this scene, we return to some of the Canadian soldiers that Lance was embedded with at the beginning of the film. This serves as a bit of a reminder of the Walter Sears character, so that his appearance at the end of the movie wouldn't come as a surprise.
Originally, I had the idea to include another battle sequence here, depicting Canadian soldiers mopping up a stubborn group of Germans trying to hold the town. Historically, however, the liberation of Dieppe on September 1, 1944 is very well documented - no battle took place that day. The scene was going to include music from "Art of War".
